RAILWAY DOUBLE-TRACKING

Ipoh-Padang Besar

Appointed by MMC-Gamuda JV as the specialist geotechnical consultant to undertake the detailed design and construction supervision of a 55km section between Ipoh to Kuala Kangsar. Various geotechnical designs through different geological features including subsoil investigation, ground improvements including soft ground treatment, USM removal and replacement, embankment surcharging, prefabricated vertical drains, reinforced geotextile, stone column, piled embankment, retaining walls, rock slopes, slope stability modeling and settlement analysis

WEST PORT CT4 - CT11 CONTAINER WHARF EXPANSION

Port Klang

Geotechnical Engineers responsible for the detailed design of the reclamation, revetment and ground improvement works for a 340-hectare reclamation to be constructed in several phases over the next 15 to 20 years.

The natural ground conditions under the proposed reclamation are geotechnically challenging as they comprise soft marine and alluvial deposits in excess of 100 metres thick.

PORT OF TANJUNG PELEPAS
Iskandar Puteri, Johor

The phase III of Port of Tanjung Pelepas Development will be the first which implements automated yard container handling machines such as the Rail Mounted Gantry, RMG and Automated Guided Vehicles, AGV. The RM 2 Billion development constitute of 3km of berthing space on reclaimed land as well as widening and deepening of the existing access channel. The berths will also be designed to accommodate the Maersk triple E class vessel, which is currently the world’s largest fuel-efficient container vessel.

 

T&T has completed the preliminary design of land reclamation and ground improvement works.

KLANG VALLEY MASS RAPID TRANSPORT (MRT) LINE 1

Foundation work on the 5.2km viaduct for Package 6, Kajang. It involves 142 piers for viaduct and all piled foundation for 3 elevated stations. T&T was also the Geotechnical Engineer for the MRT Depot which includes ground improvement on the 16 acres soft ground site using vertical drains, preloading and stone columns.

ALOR PONGSU INTERCHANGE FOR NORTH-SOUTH EXPRESSWAY (PLUS)

As Lead Consultant appointed by PLUS, geotechnical design was one of the challenges to be faced on this site that is located on soft alluvial deposits up to 25 m deep. Various cost-efficient geotechnical engineering designs were performed such as ground improvement designs using prefabricated vertical drains, stage construction method, stone columns, application of reinforced geotextile, piled embankments, retaining walls, and foundation designs for the bridge, toll plaza and ancillary structures.
